To secure a rental property, start by contacting the property owner through the listing's contact form. This will open a private messaging channel, allowing you to communicate and share the necessary documents directly. Avoid making any payment outside the platform, as this would leave your payment unprotected. Make your payment through the platform, ensuring that the payment won't be transferred to the property owner until two days after your move-in date.
Once both parties agree to proceed, the property owner will send a payment request (NOT A PAYMENT LINK) within the chat. This means you cannot make any payment until you receive this payment request, which only the property owner can send in the private chat. There is no generic payment link; instead, a "PAY" button will be activated once you receive the payment request. You can then proceed to pay the rent.
Additionally, you can ask the landlord to accept either the full deposit or the first installment (if they allow installment payments) through the platform to finalize the booking. This will ensure that you don’t have to make any payment towards the deposit at least within the 2 days after moving into the property giving you some time to ensure everything is good with the property. Always verify the move-in date specified in the payment request before completing the transaction.
