International India Hub

The journey of International India Hub began when I conducted research for my thesis on the experiences of Indian students living in Germany. During this work, it became clear that many Indian students were vulnerable to exploitation by fellow nationals who took advantage of their trust. Numerous cases were uncovered where students paid large brokerage fees to several middlemen, often while still in India, under the promise of securing housing in Germany. However, upon arrival, many found the accommodations to be far from what was promised—apartments were often overcrowded, with more students sharing the space than it could accommodate, leaving less than 5m² per person. Problems like mold in bathrooms and kitchens, non-functional hot water and heaters, and other poor living conditions were common. Due to embarrassment, most students did not openly share these hardships with family or friends, enduring difficulties alone until they found alternative solutions. This silence further enabled scammers to flourish, turning exploitation into a profitable business.
 

International India Hub was created to address and prevent these issues. It is not merely a rental marketplace but a comprehensive digital platform designed to support Indian students and professionals throughout their transition to life in Germany. The platform offers verified housing options, essential services such as insurance and immigration assistance through vetted insurance providers and verified immigration lawyers, and valuable knowledge resources. Additionally, it serves as a hub connecting Indian businesses with the expanding Indian community in Germany, aiming to empower expats and foster smoother integration into German society.
